So, so, so beautiful.
I visited the natural park this summer, during our euro trip. We left Zagreb in the early morning and we reached the place around half 9am. I would like to say something more about the trip itself, but I slept for most of the time XD

It is possible to reach the place by car or with any of the available buses. The park offers the really handy option to leave at the entrance any luggage and lock it in a room.
The park is a really famous and crowded, we found a quite long line at the entrance number 2, the bus driver suggested us to access through it, apparently, it is common that at the first entrance there is a longer queue.
The place is structured in layers, you can think about it as 2 big levels, the upper lakes and the lower lakes; we were able to see almost all of it in one day, but we walked quite a lot.
We picked a day in the middle of August, the weather was great and I was surrounded by blue and green; It is a shame, but you can’t swim there.

” Take nothing but pictures.
Leave nothing but footprints.
Kill nothing but time”
Moving around was actually easy, the park offers a free ferry to move across the river and a small and pretty train that brings everyone up and down to the hill. All is included in the ticket price.
I don’t have that much to say about the lakes, I don’t think I would ever be able to describe the colours around me, the warm breeze, the sun on my skin and the amazingness of everything I was surrounded by. It has to be something you should feel and see by yourself. That’s why I posted so many pictures, I don’t think I am able to describe it : )
Few tips for the trip?
- Check the bus prices, getting a regional bus might be cheaper than a touristic one
- 1 euro is 7 kunas, the ticket entrance is about 23 euro.
- Bring a jacket, you will be in Croatia, but you are still up to a mountain.
- Try the strudel at the entrance! I loved it.
- Bring a student card if you have one! Bus and park ticket might be cheaper.
- If you are vegetarian, bring your own food : )
- Don’t exclude the idea of going during winter, it has be beautiful.

Enjoy.
